Acts 29 Mission Trip - Wednesday, July 20
|
What a day, sorry to say the weather is GREAT again today, we didn't hit 90 and it didn't rain. To top it off, we finished the GRAND STAIR CASE. It doesn't sound like much, but 2 staircases that are 15' high took most of us 2 days non stop to build them. They look good and we started cleaning the home for a dedication on Friday at 11:00. The homeowner is at the site everyday telling stories of life in Southern Louisiana. He has lived in a trailer since just after the hurricane. He is so excited about being able to move in to the house. He is planning a big party for all of us. The homeowner Chauvin Buras is sitting with Sharon on the deck. Also, look at the scenery photos of the area and Mississippi River. Tomorrow is a do what needs to be done to get the house ready and then relax and see the area in the afternoon. We are hoping to go out onto the Grand Bayou to see how people have lived in the area for 100's of years. No roads, only boats. We are off to pizza tonight and looking forward to it. We also gave out a couple of prayer shawls this morning to Kim and Brent, two long-term volunteers that are working down here. Our prayers are with all of you and with the AWOL group as well. God's Blessings to all of you. Acts 29 - Port Sulphur |
