Care Ministers
Do I need care? Am I hurting? Have I recently suffered a loss? Have events in my life caused me great confusion lately? Am I feeling lonely? Do I often wish I had someone with whom I could share my thoughts and feelings? Have there been changes in my life that have caused difficult adjustments? Am I having difficulty making decisions?

If any of these statements describe you, then you may benefit from a Care Minister’s support and care. For example, a Care Minister can:

• help individuals working through grief after the death of a loved one.

• visit the sick in hospitals, homes or nursing homes.

• comfort the lonely and depressed.

• be a friend to someone who needs a friend.

• reach out to members of the congregation who need a concerned listener.

Care Ministers are trained members of the congregation who regularly offer Christian love, a listening ear and prayer support in a confidential environment. They also are knowledgeable about additional resources within and outside Lord of Life that may help.

Care Ministers have received 18 hours of initial training, as well as ongoing support and education. They meet regularly after training for continuing education and to support one another in their ministry. Please check back for future dates for Care Minister training. Contact
Michelle Welinski for more information about training.

Confidentiality is an important value for Care Ministers. All visits and information will be kept strictly confidential and within the program.
