Church School

**Saturday Night Grades 1 & 2 follow grade 1/Grade 3 & 4 will follow the schedule as written.

What was traditionally called Sunday School is called Church School at Lord of Life because we have classes on Saturday evenings as well as Sunday mornings. It's where children, ages 2 1/2 through 6th grade, learn about God, the Holy Spirit, and his Son, Jesus Christ. There are over 1,150 children enrolled in Church School each year.

Church School is offered Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 8:30; 9:45 and 11 am, during the school year. Register now. 

Church School incorporates many different styles of learning. Students experience Church School through the use of all of their senses. They use music, nature, listening, acting, body movement, computers and more to learn to seek live and share an active faith in Jesus Christ. Students register for a consistent time to build relationships with their teachers and other children.

• 2 1/2 year olds and 3-year olds  use age-appropriate activities and stories to learn  Bible stories and biblical concepts. These young learners have the same teacher team each week. This age group meets in the rooms near the nursery on the main level.
•  4 year old, 5 year old and kindergarten students are dropped off and picked up in the Youth Room downstairs each week. They are placed in small groups with a consistant leadership team. Together, all groups are led by a Master Teacher.
• Students in grades 1-4 meet on the lower level in different rooms each week. Each classroom has a different workshop based on the 4-5 week unit being studied. These children have the same Shepherds (formerly known as teachers) each week.  Worship with families once during each unit is an important part of this program.          
• Students in grade 5 & 6 are together in a format that allows students to "dig deeper" into Bible stories using "Grapple" (a  curriculum from Group Publishing). Grades 5 & 6 meet for Church School in the Drama Room each week.
• A Church School/Choir option called Preludes is offered for 4 year olds and K/5 year olds at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 am. Children sing for a 1/2 hour. This is followed by an abbreviated Church School session held in the same room. Children sing during worship once a month.
