How Can I Give?
Why are annual pledges important?
Annual pledges support God’s work at Lord of Life. These pledges support all the operating costs of our ministry programs as well as staff expenses, utilities and maintenance. Annual pledges also pay for capital expenses such as the mortgage payments, assessments and campus planning.
How does Lord of Life Lutheran Church spend the money received from annual pledges?
Annual pledge dollars help support programs and activities, ranging from individual crisis and caregiving ministries to worldwide hunger relief efforts. With help from annual pledges:
Annual pledges are just one part of the practice of generosity and stewardship that undergirds our congregation life. An annual pledge supports Lord of Life’s annual budget. Planned giving is a gift or series of gifts that keep on giving, even after the donor’s lifetime.
How much should I give with an annual pledge?
The Biblical standard of giving is the tithe, which is 10% of your income. While the tithe is a great place to aspire to, it is a terrible place to stop. As you have freely received, freely give, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Can my company match my gift?

What does it mean to give proportionately?
Proportional giving is based on the premise that the first fruits are given back to God in grateful response to what God has given us. It refers to a conscious effort to determine an appropriate level of giving. We ask each person or family to consider making an annual pledge in proportion to income.
