How to honor and care for our loved ones after death can be a difficult decision. The Memorial Peace Garden at Lord of Life may provide the right answers for you. We offer a beautiful setting on our church campus. Columbarium units for the permanent placement of cremation urns, scattering gardens for ashes and a Memorial Wall are all available. Recognition of your faith in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and belief in God’s grace and eternal life is an essential part of the services held with each placement of an urn or ash scattering. Membership at Lord of Life is not a requirement. |

The Columbarium and Scattering Garden Scattering of ashes can also be done at Lord of Life’s Memorial Peace Garden. The Columbarium Administrator will meet with the family to review policies and complete the Interment Covenant. At this time the niche or garden area will be assigned and the interment service will be scheduled. Pastors officiating at the funeral or memorial service are encouraged to preside at the inurnment service. Lord of Life pastoral staff will be available to officiate at the service if needed.

GriefShare Group—Have you lost a loved one? Has a life changing event created a great deal of pain in your life? If you find it difficult to be optimistic about the future, you are invited to participate in GriefShare, a special support group for people grieving the loss of a loved one. |
Lent and Easter can be a difficult time for Christians. It not only is a source of renewed grief to closely examine the death and resurrection of our Lord but it is a call to examine our own lives and our personal experiences of death.
"I am the resurreciton and the life" (John 11:25} is engraved on the tower wall in the Memorial Peace Garden. The verse, selected by the Lord of Life pastors, is a constant reminder of the key to our faith. It reminds us. It may sadden us. And yet it brings us joy. Joy in the hope of new life in Christ.
The Memorial Peace Garden has become a noted focal point of our campus and a location to remember lives dear to us. Even through the cold days of winter there have been 6 services to place urns in the columbarium. 54 members have purchased 35 niches in pre-planning their final resting place. 21 plaques have been purchased for the Memorial Wall. |

Background information
The Lord of Life Congregational Council approved plans to construct a columbarium/peace garden at Lord of Life. A columbarium is a final resting place for cremated human remains. Each columbarium unit at Lord of Life can house up to 100 urns in individual niches or compartments.
The Memorial Peace Gardens are located across from the Lord of Life main entrance, south of the tower, and includes the columbarium, scattering and floral gardens and a Memorial Wall for remembrance plaques.
There is an increasing awareness of the benefits of cremation, and a columbarium at Lord of Life provides a dignified, beautiful setting for the permanent resting place and memorialization of our loved ones. It allows Lord of Life to provide supportive and caring ministries from birth to death. Throughout the world, churches have often provided cemeteries and burial options for their congregations.
Construction crews began excavation Monday, June 30 on the church property at County Road 101 and Bass Lake Road. Following excavation, footings will be poured for twelve columbarium units. Initial stages of the project call for purchase and placement of two granite columbarium units at this time, but construction phasing allows for placement of additional walls as needed without additional landscaping or construction required.
Purchasing a niche is not tax-deductible because the purchaser receives goods and/or services in this exchange. However, gifts to the garden construction and ongoing care as well donations towards garden plants, planters, lighting fixtures, benches and plant stands are tax deductible.
