What is Ministry of Inclusion?
The Ministry of Inclusion welcomes families and children of all abilities and makes it possible for children and their families to grow in their faith. Our Buddy Program, which provides one-on-one support for children with special needs, is the primary way we fulfill this mission.
What is a Buddy? A Buddy is a dedicated volunteer who makes it possible for a child with special needs to be successful in the many programs we have at Lord of Life, and therefore, helps a child grow in her faith. Anyone ages thirteen to adult can be a buddy. The only requirement is a desire to make a difference in the life of a child.
Be a Buddy! Provide one-on-one assistance to help a child with special needs be successful at one of Lord of Life's many programs. We have both weekly and one-time commitment opportunities. Serve in a way that fits you. Sign up to serveas a Buddy! or for more information call Heather Hjelmstad at 763.420.5015, ext. 143 or emailheatherh@lordoflife.org.
Need a Buddy? If your child has special needs and would benefit form one-on-one assistance from a volunteer, please complete the “Request for a Buddy” form. Parents know their child best and will team with the Buddies and the Ministry of Inclusion Coordinator to meet the individual needs of the child. If your child has special needs or circumstances that do not require a one-on-one assistance, please share any instructions or information to ensure the best possible experience with your leader. Nobody knows your child better than you. Resources: Visit our resources page.
