|Lord of Life Mission Statement
Lord of Life Lutheran Church exists to proclaim the saving grace of Jesus Christ and for its faith community to witness and serve God gratefully in daily life.
Of course the natural answer to this question is the Holy Spirit… but what is the intentional, written direction that we take from the Holy Spirit? We call it our Global Ends Policy: “Lord of Life Lutheran Church exists to proclaim the saving grace of Jesus Christ and for its faith community to witness and serve God gratefully in daily life.”
This Ends Policy, as created by our Congregational Council, is the primary guiding principle by which we carry out our ministries at Lord of Life. Seven other Ends Policies (Campus, Caring Community, Culture of Generosity, Faith Formation, Leadership, Outreach and Worship) were written and are being implemented to assure that our overall mission is being achieved.
But why would a member of Lord of Life be interested in the Ends Policies? Simply put, the Ends Policies are how we each LIVECHRIST. Through the 20/20 Vision that was launched in 2010, each of us has the opportunity to understand the purpose and future of our church and how each of us is accountable to God, ourselves and each other for the growth of our faith and how we live it (as it says above gratefully proclaiming grace, witnessing, serving in our daily lives).
Our hope and prayer is your faith and how you live your life through your faith reflects your purpose: how can I demonstrate grace, witness and serve today.
Perhaps in the daily demands or frenzy your personal “ends policy” gets lost in the craziness or pain or fog. That’s understandable – but your life would be more peaceful, loving and meaningful if your purpose was based on your growing faith.
Trust that your church is focused on the end all, be all of our ministries – and our goal and purpose is that you also make the Global Ends Policy your end all, be all too. May the Holy Spirit enable each of us make LIVECHRIST our end all, be all.
