Live Christ....
Dear children, let’s not merely say that
we love each other;
let us show the truth by our actions.

                                                                                   (1 John 3:18 NLT)

  Putting Faith Into Action
Short-term mission projects are much more than eight days of carpentry or interaction with children, they are experiential opportunities to put faith into action. Discover how God is working through your life to change the life of another. Join other Christians who have the same passion to live out their spiritual gifts and share their blessing

Why Lord of Lifers Go To Jamaica

1. To help serve the community spiritually & medically at a free medical clinic.
2. To help improve housing for over 100 children at Westhaven Children’s Home & Clifton Boy’s Home through construction and maintenance projects.
3. To improve the health for thousands of children throughout the island by distributing Feed My Starving Children food to 13 different orphanages.
4. To give relief to the 24-hour Westhaven staff by bathing, feeding, playing with the children (and even to fold laundry and wash dishes).
5. To share God through VBS at Clifton Boy’s Home
6. To see God through the eyes and voice of a child.
7. To provide the simple gift of touch to a child that is bed-ridden.
8. To have the opportunity to grow in spirit & faith while working side by side with fellow Christians.
9. So we can take the time to STOP. Jamaican time slows us down allowing us to reflect and grow.
10. To return and minister to our families, congregation, and community.

Mission Jamaica is a short-term "vacation with a purpose" mission experience, which began at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Thirty-five other Christian congregations and several colleges from Minnesota as well as North Dakota, South Dakota, California, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Idaho and Ohio have partnered with St. Andrew's in this mission field.  Mission Jamaica provides a way to love and serve our neighbor as Jesus taught us. The Mission Jamaica trip combines a service project with time for reflection and spiritual rest. It allows a person to experience an international mission field that is close to home, yet far enough away to immerse into another culture for a week. To learn more about that culture, read the history of Jamaica.

There are many ways to serve the children of Jamaica, even if you are unable to attend Mission Jamaica. See the lists below for ways to support Clifton Boys' Home and Westhaven Children's Home.

Clifton Boys' Home
“I thank God for YOU people!” exclaims Mrs. McDonald, Director (and house mom) of Clifton Boy’s Home in Jamaica each and every time I talk to her. Who are “you people”?

It’s YOU, the church, the congregation of Lord of Life. And why does Mrs. McDonald thank God for YOU?

She is overwhelmed by, and grateful for, the love and support that she, the staff, and 33 boys at Clifton receive from Lord of Life. YOU are people she hasn’t met and probably never will meet.

How can you serve God in this ministry? Here are two ways:
1. Pray for Mrs. McDonald, the staff, and the boys.
2. Donate supplies and money that the missionaries will carry down with them.

Please prayerfully consider helping change the lives of 33 boys and the staff at Clifton Boy’s Home in Jamaica. Help us support these boys so that they can become well-educated Christian men.

Thank YOU! Please contact Rhonda Hofer if you have any questions at
rhondah@lordoflife.org.
