FAQs about Planned Gifts
My dream is to support ministries and programs at Lord of Life for the future, so my children and grandchildren can get to know Jesus through coming to church at Lord of Life. What is the best way to see my dream become a reality?
You may want to make a substantial gift to Lord of Life, but aren’t sure how to do it. Perhaps you have family obligations right now that prevent you from writing out a check for a major gift to support Lord of Life. A planned gift is a way to make a gift out of assets without straining your current income. You can make a significant impact on the ministries at Lord of Life by making a planned gift.
What exactly is a Planned Gift?
* Gift(s) designated during a donor’s lifetime with benefits that may not be realized until a future time, generally at the death of the donor and/or beneficiary.
* Usually requires professional advice, with thoughtful preparation and planning.
* Most of all, a planned gift can benefit you and your family, bring immediate and deferred tax advantages to both you and your heirs, and have a meaningful impact on Lord of Life’s mission, beyond your lifetime and far into the future.
What are some examples of how I could make a planned gift?
* Name Lord of Life as a beneficiary in your will, 401K or IRA. You can specify a percentage or a dollar amount.
* Donate an asset and receive an income for life. Upon death, the gift keeps on giving as Lord of Life receives the remaining portion of the asset.
* Donate a life insurance policy or change the beneficiary on a current policy.
Talk with your professional advisors and then with one of the members of the Planned Giving Advisory Board: Dave Herbeck, Wayne Horntvedt, Dave Longren, Gretchen Peel, Steve Sauer, or Pastor Peter. They can help you make your dreams a reality!
If you have already included Lord of Life in your future plans, thank you!
