Reduce Junk Mail
Every year at Earth Day events, the number one question parishioners ask us is how can I reduce the amount of junk mail I get? One suggestion we have is to take some time to go online to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) web site.

DMA divides direct mail into
four categories: Credit Offers, Catalogs, Magazine Offers and Other Mail Offers. The Other Mail Offers category includes a variety of types of mail, such as donation requests, retail promotions, cable and phone offers, bank offers, and mail addressed to "current resident."

You can easily request to stop receiving mail from individual companies within each category or from an entire category at once.

To use the DMAchoice™ web site, you will need to create a simple log-in, and then you will have the option to manage catalogs, magazine offers, and other mail offers separately.

There is no cost to use this online service, and your choices will remain in effect for three years.

This useful site also allows you to add yourself to lists, and manage lists from specific companies or organizations. You will also be able to easily change your selections in the future should you wish.
