As a congregation, we are going to spend the next several months reading and studying the Gospel of John.
Why John? The answer is found in John, Chapter 20 Verse 31, which describes why the Book of John was written in the first place: “These are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in His name.” The purpose of this Gospel is to prove conclusively that Jesus is the Son of God and that all who believe in Him will have eternal life.
Lord of Life is dedicating this coming year to spending time in the Book of John so that we might come to know Jesus better and grow in our faith and relationship with Him. We are in for an exciting adventure! As a gospel, John is unique. The characters we meet in John are richer and deeper than the other gospels. John tells us things about the life of Jesus that we only know from him.
We are working our way through the entire Gospel of John. We will hear a message on a lesson from John and then each of us is invited to reflect on the message and the Gospel and apply what we have learned to our lives. Visit the All-Church Study page to find each week's study guide. Everyone is encouraged to be a part of a small group to discuss John and its life application.
Pastor David’s Adult Bible Study will be going even deeper in the Gospel of John this year. Everyone is invited to Go Deeper with Pastor David! Register at lordoflife.org/abs or contact Karen Nelson.
